SAYURIを観た。
Yahoo!ムービーによる解説:
ティーヴン・スピルバーグ製作総指揮、チャン・ツィイー主演による究極の“ゲイシャ・ムービー”。共演には渡辺謙、役所広司ら日本の俳優たちのほか、ミシェール・ヨー、コン・リーらアジアの名優たちが顔をそろえる。『シカゴ』のロブ・マーシャル監督が、1人の芸者の人生を描くとともに、豪華けんらんな美の世界を表現する。ハリウッドが描いた斬新な“日本の伝統美”の数々は一見の価値あり。
映像はとても美しいです。音楽も、John Williamsと、Yo-Yo Maのチェロ、Itzhak Perlmanのバイオリンと、それは素晴らしい。日本の文化の描写がおかしいと酷評されてはいるが、そこはあくまでも「映画」ですから、ご愛嬌ということで。日本の美について、西洋人が触れる事ができるとすれば、この映画は十分なのではないでしょうか？
チャン・ツィイーは無垢な美しさがあります。それ故、配役されたのか。日本人が主役として迎えられなかった理由は、言葉の問題なのでしょうか？
